Our 2027 southbound Voyage of the Glaciers traces 500 miles through Alaska's Inside Passage aboard Princess Cruises' Discovery Princess. You'll wake to glaciers calving into still blue water, spend afternoons in gold rush towns and rainforest trails, and end your evenings with stories worth retelling.

  • Whittier (Embarkation) — Board Discovery Princess at the base of the Chugach Mountains as Alaska begins to unfold behind you

  • College Fjord & Hubbard Glacier — A full day of scenic cruising past North America's largest tidewater glacier

  • Glacier Bay National Park — The centerpiece of the voyage, cruising past Margerie Glacier through waters home to humpback whales and bald eagles

  • Icy Strait Point — A small, Tlingit-owned port at the edge of the Tongass National Forest, ideal for whale and bear viewing

  • Juneau — Alaska's capital, reachable only by sea or air; visit Mendenhall Glacier or take the Mount Roberts Tramway

  • Ketchikan — Known for totem poles, salmon runs, and the lush Tongass rainforest

  • A Day at Sea — Time to linger over breakfast, compare notes on the week, and watch the coastline drift by

  • Vancouver (Disembarkation) — Consider extending your stay for Stanley Park, Gastown, and world-class dining. You can also opt for a ride of the Rocky Mountaineer to explore more of the Canadian West.

Choosing Your Stateroom

Your view matters on this voyage. Three categories, from most spacious to most popular:

  • Suite — The most expansive option, with a private balcony, separate sitting area, and premium perks. Starting from $5,909 per person, double occupancy.

  • Mini-Suite — A meaningful upgrade in space, with a separate sitting area and welcome bubbly on embarkation day. Starting from $3,679 per person, double occupancy.

  • Balcony Stateroom — The most popular choice, with a private balcony as your front-row seat to every glacier and fjord. Starting from $2,972 per person, double occupancy.

This is a members-only experience, created for travelers who enjoy exploring thoughtfully and traveling well together. If you're not yet a member, a one-time $97 annual membership is simply added at booking, giving you access to this trip, future journeys, member gatherings, and a full year in the Society.
